CERAMICS
A STUDY OF CLAY
-
This collection gathers pieces from my first 18 months of learning ceramics, a period of steady exploration, many mistakes, and countless small discoveries.
My focus has been on functional ware—mugs, bowls, and vessels designed to be used every day. These are objects made to bring a quiet sense of joy and beauty to simple rituals like sharing a meal or having a morning coffee. While functional, each piece carries the subtle irregularities that come with handcrafting, making every one unique.
Over this time, I’ve been exploring techniques such as wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing, gradually learning how different clays and glazes interact through the firing process. Each piece is fired to 1220°C, a transformative stage where the clay, glaze, and heat seem to collaborate, often producing results that are both surprising and humbling.
