MARIGOLDS
This mural is tribute to Mexican culture, community, and the spirit of shared experience.
The artwork features an explosion of marigold flowers (cempasūchil)—rendered in Sai Neoh’s distinctive style of intricate, dynamic compositions and natural forms. The marigolds cascade across the wall in vivid oranges and deep golds, their petals layered and alive with movement.
In Mexican tradition, marigolds are known as cempasūchil, sacred flowers of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Their bright colors and strong scent are believed to guide the souls of loved ones home, symbolizing life, death, and renewal. By integrating these flowers into the mural, the design honors the ancestral roots, resilience, and warmth at the heart of Mexican culture.
